We did this tour in july-agust 2011, during the dry season for both countries. The route sets out from Uyuni toward Santa Cruz, also offering a view over the beautiful hills , the route goes on north to La Paz . Titicaca Lake with its beautiful islands, the route continues to Cusco in Peru and then to Machu Picchu.
Road conditions: In Bolivia we did mainly dirt roads. The roads are not in good conditions. Moreover there is alot of dust and the altitude does not make the day of a cyclist easier. In Peru the roads are paved.

Camping: There are no camping sites. We could find cheap hotels almost in every city we have passed through. We did also free camping in the remote areas without any problems.
Budget: Room for 2 is about 5-8 Euros. You can find in almost all small towns at least one shop with some fresh fruits and vegetables.
